A very successful Triennial
National Convention-cum-Reunion of the War Decorated
India was held at
Chandigarh from
9th to 11 March.
More than 200 awardees and
their families participated in full spirits. We felt
honoured to have among us Air Marshal Randhir Singh,
PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VM, H/Capt Ishwer Singh, VrC &
H/Sub Surjan Singh, VrC – all 90 years plus.
Brig Narinder Singh, MVC
skillfully managed the whole programme and under his
able guidance his team put up a very creditable show.
Punjab Rattan Brig KS Chandpuri, MVC, VSM, Brig Baljit
Singh Gill, VrC, VSM & Col Gurjeet Singh Bajwa,
VrC ,
SC helped
his organise the show.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of
Punjab Sardar Parkash Singh Badal, General Bikram Singh,
PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC & Hon’ble Col Dhani
Ram Shandil (Retd) Minister for Defence Services
Welfare, Himachal Pradesh also addressed the Convention
of different occasions.
A new Executive Committee was
also elected with Lt Gen Gurbaksh Singh
Sihota, PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VM, MID (Retd) as President at
its head.
