Cyber Warfare Strategy
The Government has elaborate cyber security policies. Various organisations have prepared Cyber Crisis Management Plans for appropriate responses.
Purchase of Helicopters
A contract for the procurement of 80 Mi 17-V5 helicopters along with spares and the associated equipment was signed between Ministry of Defence and M/s Rosoboronexport, Russia on 5th December 2008 at a cost of US $ 1,345,836,495.83.
Grievances of Personnel
The Hon’ble Supreme Court vide its order dated 15.11.2010 has directed the Central Government to set up a Commission, named the Armed Forces Grievances Redressed Commission to address the grievances of both serving and retired armed forces personnel. The matter is presently under examination.
Procurement of Defence Equipment
A dedicated Acquisition Wing having an integrated set-up with officers from the Department of Defence, Finance Division and Service Headquarters was created in the Ministry of Defence in 2002 to assist the Defence Procurement Board. All matters related to acquisition of capital nature are dealt by the acquisition Wing.
Functioning of DGDE
Most of the defence land is being utilised by the Armed Forces. Land records are being maintained and updated.
